Manufactured in the Lallemand plant, Alkosel R397  is an inactivated yeast that contains high levels of organic selenium (min. 98%) as predominantly seleno methionine (SeMet).

Selenium is a key trace element required in the diet to support antioxidant and immune function. Selenium is required for optimum function of the key antioxidant enzyme: glutathione peroxidase, which helps to increases resistance to physiological stress by limiting the potential damage by reactive
oxygen species or free radicals that are produced as a by-product of normal metabolism.
