Biotal microbind contains mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) that help to decrease the detrimental effects of mycotoxins by detoxifying contaminated feedstuffs during passage through the digestive tract. Researchers have demonstrated that MOS has a beneficial impact on animal growth and health, by binding to foreign bodies such as mycotoxins produced by fungi. If the mycotoxin is bound strongly enough, its absorption by the digestive tract will be prevented and it will pass through the animal without affecting it.
Biotal microbind also contains beta glucans which stimulate an immune response by activating macrophages produced by the animal’s own immune system. This produces a non specific immune response by enhancing the animal’s own defences, which then engulf and destroy mycotoxins.
