The bacteria in Biotal Biobrick are more effective than conventional or enzyme based products, as a biofilm is formed and continually replaced, which produces a continuous and renewable supply of highly active enzymes for fat and grease degradation. This biofilm adheres to the drainage system walls and is highly resistant to cleaning fluids and disinfectants, thus providing a longer lasting protection than enzyme or caustic products, which have minimal contact time.

The primary application of Biotal Biobrick is in wet wells, grease traps and other low oxygen situations, where unpleasant odours and unhygienic conditions are considered a problem and which invariably need chemical or mechanical treatment.
